A Quick Overview of Cornerstone's
Doctrinal Position

We are a Southern Baptist Church and our doctrinal position is based upon the "2000 Baptist Faith and Message".

This means we are a conservative church in our approach to scripture and life practices. We hold to a high view of the Bible, in that all scripture is inspired by God and is given to us for matters of life and faith.

We believe there is one God, who has revealed Himself to us in three (3) ways: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Bible is also clear that all of Mankind is made in the image of God but because of Adam's sin we all are born with a sin nature and in need of redemption. Therefore, God the Son came to earth as a child, born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit, lived a sinless life, and gave His life to pay for the sins of all who put their faith and trust in Him. The Bible calls that being born again.

We believe Christ died, was buried and rose again and today is sitting at the right hand of God the Father, waiting to return for His people, the Church, to take us home to heaven.

Also, we believe Christ will, at the end of time, judge all people. For Christians at the judgement seat of Christ, rewards will be given for the faithful service to Christ. Also Christ will judge all others at the great white throne. Those people who refused to turn to Christ will spend an eternity in a place made for the devil and his angels. That place is called hell where there will be eternal punishment for rejecting God's provision for salvation.
